Hillingdon Borough FC hosted Brent FC in the league looking to remain unbeaten. The squad of 12 players from all around the borough have been fantastic to work with at training and on match days.
The game started with Hillingdon on top and defending form the front with Alfie and Reece as always winning tackles giving absolutely everything from the start. The boys at the back had the game ahead of them and played some good football with Lewis, Josh and Luke and Jake in goal behind calm under pressure and not really under any threat.
The boys in midfield battled and With Jack, Mathew and Ryan creating some good chances for the strikers.
The first goal of the game came from some great work by Reece on the right his cross found Ryan cutting in from the left his effort was heading into the far corner when Alfie came sliding in to smash it into the empty net and make it 1-0 to Hillingdon. Ryan on set pieces put in some great corners 3 were well met by Reece who unfortunately headed each one just wide of the post. Hillingdon could and should have doubled there lead just before half time, Alfie played through Reece and he forced the opposition keeper into a very good save.
The half time whistle blew with Hillingdon 1-0 up.
The message at half time was keep paying football and the next goal is massive.
We did make one change Harry came on for Jack who had a great first half.
The second half was very much like the first Hillingdon onto and creating some good chances. Ryan swung in a great free kick which Lewis headed over and again Reece getting in the right positions from corners very unlucky not to score.
Hillingdon then deservedly doubled there lead half way through the second half Reece finding his strike partner Alfie who scored from a very tight angle into the corner of the net a very good finish.
The game was a hard though battle with a few scraps and some quality tackles specially Alfie, Lewis and Luke making last ditch tackles a joy to watch.
Then a brief lapse of concentration from our no.1, normally safe hands in wet and windy conditions Jake lost concentration and a normal routine catch slipped through his hands from a long free kick and into the net.
The game then became open with 7 minutes to play Brent put some pressure on us but some great headers from Josh and super defending from the whole team we managed to see out the final minutes and grab all 3 points, deservedly so in my opinion.
Man of the match was difficult Lewis was superb at the back, Alfie scored 2 and never stopped working but today we have gone with Josh. Well done boys great team keep up the hard work.

Hillingdon 0 – 2 Barnet.
After an impressive win in their first match, Hillingdon were brought back down to earth against a good Barnet side who remain unbeaten so far.
Despite dominating proceedings, Hillingdon were made to pay for not taking any of their early chances when they failed to deal with a corner which somehow ended up in their net..
However this did not derail Hillingdon and they continued to press for an equalizer but were thwarted on several occasions by the Barnet Goalkeeper who pulled off some tremendous saves to protect Barnet’s lead.
The second half followed a similar pattern to the first but Hillingdon were unable to replicate some of the flowing passing and movement they had produced so well against Camden & Islington and as a result the match became a bit scrappy due to the desperation to find an equalizer.
The game became more open as time went on with both teams creating chances but both goalkeepers were in good form which kept the game very tight until a late counter attack by Barnet resulted in them finding the net and collect all three points.
Despite the defeat, there was still a lot of positives to come out of the game which we will work on in training in preparation for our next match.

Hillingdon 3 v Barnet 1
Well done to all the boys who were picked to represent there schools and the Hillingdon district. On Saturday Hillingdon played Barnet looking to win there second game. 5 players from Wealdstone represented the team with Jake, Luke, Lewis, Ryan and Reece all getting the call up a great achievement for any young lad.
Hillingdon won the game 3-1 with Ryan scoring his second goal in 2 games a brilliant free kick over the helpless keeper, Ben score the second from a Ryan corner met well and headed into the net and Alfie scored a fully deserved third for his constant work rate his desire to beat the keeper and score right footed in to the net was superb, a great ball in By Luke to make the chance.
Barnet did grab a consolation goal 10 minutes from time but the defence stood firm Jake, Lewis, Luke and man of the match Josh gave nothing away.
The midfield worked tremendously hard against a very big Barnet side and it has to be said we probably have the smallest but hardest working midfield in the league in Mathew, Harry and Ryan.
Upfront we have Reece and Alfie and i have never seen 2 strikers put in so many tackles, defend from the front is exactly what they are about, there work rate is amazing and i would have hated to try and play against them.
Well done lads keep up the good work.

Camden & Islington 1 – 3 Hillingdon
Hillingdon got off to a great start to this season’s Bower Cup campaign with a hard fought victory over a very strong and competitive Camden & Islington team.
After dominating the early stages, Hillingdon found themselves a goal down from an unstoppable shot from fully 30 yards which nestled in the top corner. This gave the opposition confidence and Hillingdon had to hold firm before they once again got a foothold in the match and Jack Neill equalized with a close range effort following a free kick just before half-time to level the score.
Hillingdon made a few tactical changes at half-time and the game was very evenly matched before Hillingdon started to once again dominate possession and managed to find a goal which restored their lead which they had been threatening.
Camden & Islington threw everything at Hillingdon in search of an equalizer but Hillingdon held firm again with some great defending before breaking away and finding a third which took the game away from Camden & Islington and secured the three points.
Well done to all the boys who produced some excellent football despite this being their first ever game together. There was some outstanding performances and plenty of optimism and confidence to take into the next match.
